Just plug it into your trapdoor expansion slot and you have a 40 Mh2 68030 powering your A1200 instead of that 14Mh2 68020. To those of you who use your Amiga very often, you will notice a speed increase when using programs and playing games. Even Workbench's window's load in their contents faster, and theoretically, you should be able to print faster, but I haven't had chance to test that. If you have loads of things connected to your computer and you are still using the standard Amiga power supply, then the Power Typhoon probably won't work without a new, more powerful power supply, so you will probably have to fork out about ú60 for a new supply, or you could try to get hold of an A500 power supply which outputs more than the A1200 one, but still not really enough to power the Typhoon and anything more than a floppy and hard disk. You can add SCSI peripherals to your computer for an extra tenner when you buy the Typhoon (just ask for a SCSI enabled version). And the most you have to do on the computer is add a line to your startup sequence to get it working! Once you've got the Typhoon working, you can then use the MMU to add virtual memory to your system. You can also take advantage of the speed increase by buying some new games like Napalm and Zombie Massacre! Only one problem with the SCSI enabled version, it does take up to 30 seconds EVERY TIME you boot up. This is simply because it is looking for SCSI peripherals, but it's quite annoying all the same. Manual: 9/10 Speed: 10/10 Ease Of Use: 9/10 Overall Score: 91% Comment: Fast and not too expensive! Excellent!
